If you're a new parent, frequent checks on your sleeping infant are part of the daily routine. During the night, that can mean getting out of your warm bed to creep into her room, hover over her crib, and listen in the dark for sounds of breathing. While a regular sound monitor allows you to hear her cries, it can't give you a clear picture of what she's up to. The Child View Monitor & Television from Safety 1st can. A small wall-mountable camera with an infrared lens and a microphone actually allows you to hear your baby, as well as see her, on a 5-inch black-and-white monitor--even in the dark. (When you're not using the monitor, it can function as a television.) The device can be battery-operated or used with an A/C adapter. Three channels help minimize interference.
